I'm feeling so privilaged to be doing a residency right now at Medalta International Artists in Residence (www.medalta.org). I'm taking a short break from production to work on an independant project. I recieved a grant from the Saskatchewan Arts Board to make this all happen...more details to come!

I'm heading out to the Crowsnest Pass next week (September 9,10) to teach another printing on clay workshop.

Here's a look at some new work I've got on the go. There's fresh stock at the Better Good in Saskatoon as well as at Funktional in Kelowna.
I've also started selling my work at the Yvette Moore Gallery in Moose Jaw.

Just over 2 weeks until the Calgary Folkfest. Tracy and I will have the airstream there again this summer with lots of new work by artists from across the country.

Another local upcoming market to tell you about. Waterfront is a one day sale, June 11th. It's an outdoor sale at River Front Landing in Saskatoon. It's put on by the Saskatchewan Craft Council. Check it out, I made the billboard!

Print on Clay: New Surface Techniques with Cathy Terepocki

Clayworks Studio-Link and the Edmonton Potters Guild invite you to learn a variety of printing techniques to create new surfaces on your finished work.

Cathy will demonstrate water-based printing techniques, from basic transfers with rubber stamps, and introduce participants to screen printing with slips and underglazes. She will demonstrate printing onto tissue-paper as well as more direct methods of printing onto clay. She will also teach you how to make decals using laser printers and photocopiers. Her range of techniques can be readily used by both beginner and advanced ceramic artists, in any type of kiln.

When: Friday March 25, 6-9 & Saturday March 26, 9-4

(payment made at either the EPG or at Studio-link by March 11)

Cathy Terepocki graduated from Alberta College of Art and Design in 2004 with a BFA in ceramics. Since then she has been selling and exhibiting her work at galleries and shops across Canada. Her pieces have been featured in major exhibitions such as Canada’s Unity and Diversity Exhibition at the Cheongju International Craft Biennale and at the Vancouver Museum as part of the 2010 Cultural Olympiad.

Here's a look at some newer work. I'm pretty excited about brown clay these days!
I'm also part of a new collective of artists that has formed in Saskatoon. We're called Flock and Gather (www.flockandgather.blogspot.com) Watch for more info on the next sale happening on April 30th.
I'm also very excited about a new website that is in the works. I know...it's about time. I've also recently set up a Cathy Terepocki artist page on Facebook.

Just to let you know about a couple of upcoming Christmas sales here in Saskatoon. The first is the Indy Craft Market on Saturday Nov. 13th at 1932 St. George Ave. from 10-5.
On the weekend on Nov. 19th -21 I'll be at Artisan Fine Craft Market at TCU place.
Also, watch for an updated website coming in the new year.

Here I am again. It is shocking how pathetic I am at keeping this updated. Anyways, all apologies aside here's what new:

a) A third bun came out of the oven. A boy this time
b) Set up a spacious new studio here in Saskatoon
c) getting back into making one of kind pieces for non-commercial exhibitions
d) dishes and jewellery now available at The Better good, here in Saskatoon
as well as Mysteria in Regina, Alberta Craft Council Shop, Edmonton AB, Floating Gold Iceberg, Victoria BC and Room6 in North Vancouver.

Here's the latest:
As of June 1st of this year I opened up a shop here in nelson selling my own works as well as those of other emerging and established artists from Nelson and across the country. The gallery is a 64 airstream trailer that has been renovated to accomodate clothing, jewellery, ceramics and other home accessories. We are located on Herridge Lane beside the All Seasons Cafe. Here are a few pictures.

The time has come for the second annual New Craft Collective's spring show. "Thaw" will be held March 31-April 2 at the Polish Combatants Hall in Calgary (Kensington). The sale features clothing by Sabrina Butterfly Designs, jewellery by Kari Woo, blown glass by Keith Walker, leather bags by Naomi Yamamoto. In addition to my own work, I will also be selling screen-printed hats, neckties, bags and jackets by Rare Bird, a line by a fellow Nelson artist/designer. The show will be held from 10-4 on Friday, 11-6 on Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday. It's always a great event, come check it out.
Also, my dishes are now available at Smoking Lily in Vancouver and my mugs will be for sale it Oso Negro in Nelson during the month of June.
